The mission of the Citizen Corps is to harness the power of every individual through education, training and volunteer service to make communities safer, stronger, and better prepared to respond to the threats of terrorism, crime, public health issues, and disasters of all kinds.
In Allen County, the Board of County Commissioners has appointed the Allen County LEPC to serve as the county’s official Citizen Corps Council. The Council meets six times a year and all meetings are open to the public.
The Medical Reserve Corps and the R.A.C.E.S. radio communications group are two active volunteer organizations under the Citizen Corps umbrella operating in Allen County, Ohio.
